The Essence of Solace
At Solace, everything begins with intention.
After a decade in the beauty industry, working across both spa and clinical environments, I found myself drawn to the parts of each that felt meaningful; connection, care, results, but I felt a disconnect from the structure surrounding them. There was often a “right way” to do things, a set of rules to follow, even when it didn’t always feel right for the person in front of me.
Solace was created from a desire to do things differently.
Not based on trends, time pressures or sales targets, but on experience, understanding and genuine care.
A Different Kind of Experience
From the moment you walk through the door, my intention is simple: that you feel safe, seen and cared for.
Solace is not a space that is just enter, treat, leave.
It’s a pause.
A long exhale in your day.
A space where you can hand your care over, feel supported and leave feeling better than when you arrived. Not just because of the treatment itself, but because of the environment it’s delivered in, one that is thoughtfully curated, free of judgement and built from a desire to care for others.
Understanding Skin, Not Fighting It
Skin is not an isolated organ, it’s part of a complex, interconnected system. What we see on the surface is often a reflection of something deeper.
Rather than solely focusing on what appears to be “wrong”, I focus on understanding the person and the message their skin is trying to communicate.
Quick fixes and temporary solutions may offer short term change, but they often overlook the cause. At Solace, I take a step back. We explore what’s happening beneath the surface, working with the body rather than against it.
This approach takes time. It requires patience, curiosity and trust. But it allows for results that are not only visible, but lasting. Supporting the skin as a functional, respected part of the body, rather than something isolated to be corrected or controlled.
The Role of the Nervous System
Skin health doesn’t exist separately from how we live, feel and carry stress.
The nervous system plays a significant role in how the body functions, and often, when results feel out of reach, it’s not because we’re doing the wrong thing, it’s because the body is asking for support.
Tension held within the body, ongoing stress and emotional load can all influence how the skin presents. By creating space for the body to soften, regulate and function as it should, we often see changes reflected in the skin in ways that topical treatments alone cannot achieve.
Education, Not Expectation.
A core part of my work is education.
I don’t believe in using jargon, pressure or upselling to guide decisions. Instead, I provide honest, accessible information so you can understand your skin and make choices that feel right for you.
You’re not expected to simply take my word for it.
You’re encouraged to ask questions, to understand and learn about your skin for yourself.
Because when you understand your skin, you’re not reliant on someone else to “fix” it, you’re empowered to care for it.
A Human First Approach
The knowledge I gained while studying psychology has shaped the way I work.
I am trauma-informed, gender-affirming and continually learning how to better support the people I work with, not just physically, but as whole individuals. This allows me to blend advanced treatments with a compassionate, informed approach that considers both the body and the mind.
At Solace, all bodies and all skin journeys are welcome.
What I Refuse to Be
I am not here to sell to you.
I am not here to rush you in and out of a treatment room.
And I am not here to follow a system that priorities profit over people.
I am here as an educator and a practitioner, to support, guide and care.
That means no pressure, no urgency and no expectation to commit to anything that doesn’t feel right for you.
It also means allowing space, before, during and after your treatment. Because care doesn’t end the moment you leave the room.
Care That Continues
The relationships built at Solace are not confined to the treatment room.
Whether it’s checking in, asking a question or simply sharing a moment from your life, care is consistent, not conditional. You are not only valued during your appointment, but as a person beyond it.
Because at it’s core, Solace is built on something simple: A genuine desire to help, to support and to care.
Meet Stephanie
Behind Solace is a love for helping others feel comfortable and confident in their own skin.
I’m Stephanie, founder of Solace and your skin & wellness practitioner. With a decade of experience in the beauty industry, my approach has been shaped not only by hands on treatment experience, but by a deeper understadning of people.
Alongside my work in the beauty industry, I completed two degree in psychology at Massey University. This is something that continues to influence how I care for my clients today. It allows me to approach each treatment with empathy, patience and a genuine understanding that skin is never just skin.
I believe beauty therapy is about more than just treatments. Its about connection, trust and creating a space where people feel truly seen and supported.
Outside of Solace, I’m a proud mum of wonderful children and someone who finds grounding in creativity, particularly through painting. It’s a way of staying connected to myself and it carries through into the care I provide.
Solace was built not just from experience, but from intention.
A space where care feels genuine.
Precision Care. Lasting Confidence.
If this approach resonates with you, you’re in the right place.
